ELECTRONIC DEVICE REPAIR — TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read carefully before leaving your device. Signing the drop-off receipt constitutes acceptance of these terms.

1. DEVICE ACCEPTANCE & OWNERSHIP

By leaving your device with us, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the device or are duly authorised to approve repair work on the owner’s behalf. You accept full responsibility for any consequences arising from unauthorised submission. The device is accepted in its presented condition; any visible physical damage, missing accessories, or cosmetic defects will be noted on your receipt at the time of drop-off. We accept no liability for damage not recorded at intake.

2. DEVICES RECEIVED WITHOUT POWER / NON-FUNCTIONAL DEVICES

Where a device is received in a non-powered or non-functional state, we are unable to perform a full health check of all internal and external components prior to commencing diagnosis or repair. Components that cannot be tested at intake include, but are not limited to:

•       Display panels, LCD/LED/OLED screens, and backlights

•       Touch digitisers and glass assemblies

•       Cameras, microphones, and speakers

•       Ports, connectors, and peripheral interfaces

•       Battery state-of-health and charge capacity

•       Printed circuit board sub-components and ICs

Any fault identified in an untested component during the repair process will be communicated to you before additional work proceeds. We will not be held responsible for pre-existing faults in components that were not testable at the time of acceptance.

⚠  IMPORTANT — SCREEN & DISPLAY DISCLAIMER

If your device is received with no power, screen condition cannot be verified at intake. Any pre-existing screen damage — including dead pixels, burn-in, discolouration, backlight failure, or cracked/delaminated panels — that is discovered once the device powers on during repair will not be the liability of this workshop.

3. DATA, STORAGE & PRIVACY

We strongly recommend backing up all personal data before submitting your device. We take no responsibility for loss, corruption, or damage to data, files, installed software, or personal information during or after the repair process. This includes, but is not limited to, scenarios involving firmware reflashing, component replacement, or a factory reset necessitated by the repair.

Where a factory reset or data-clearing procedure is required, we will endeavour to notify you and seek your approval in advance. In situations where this is not possible (e.g., a device that cannot be accessed without a reset), we will notify you as soon as practicable.

4. DIAGNOSIS, REPAIR AUTHORISATION & ESTIMATES

You authorise us to inspect and diagnose the device. A diagnostic fee may apply and will be communicated to you prior to commencement. Any cost estimate provided is an approximation based on initial assessment. Before any repair work begins, you will be contacted with a quote for your approval.

If additional faults are discovered during the repair process beyond those initially quoted, we will contact you with a revised estimate before proceeding. No additional work will be performed without your explicit authorisation. If we are unable to reach you after reasonable attempts, the device will be secured until contact is established.

5. PRICING & PAYMENT

Full payment is required upon completion of repairs before the device is released. Quoted prices are estimates unless confirmed in writing as fixed. Prices may be revised if additional faults are discovered during the repair. Unpaid devices may be retained until the outstanding balance is settled.

6. PARTS & COMPONENTS

We use quality replacement parts in all repairs. Unless OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are specifically requested and agreed upon in writing prior to commencement, aftermarket or equivalent-grade components may be used. Where second-hand or salvaged components are to be used, this will be disclosed to you. Original parts removed during repair remain the property of the customer and will be returned upon request unless otherwise agreed.

7. WARRANTY ON COMPLETED REPAIRS

All repair work carries a 90-day workmanship warranty from the date of collection, covering the specific fault that was repaired. This warranty does not cover:

•       New or unrelated faults arising after the repair

•       Physical damage, liquid ingress, static discharge, or misuse occurring after collection

•       Damage caused by third-party tampering or further repair attempts after our service

•       Consumable items such as batteries (covered separately under a 30-day limited warranty)

•       Software-related issues, viruses, or user-installed applications

This warranty is void if the device is opened or tampered with by any party other than this workshop after the repair has been completed.

8. TURNAROUND TIME

Estimated completion times are provided as a guide only and are not contractual guarantees. Turnaround may be affected by parts availability, fault complexity, or service volume. We will keep you informed of any significant delays and will contact you promptly when your device is ready for collection.

9. UNCLAIMED DEVICES & ABANDONED PROPERTY

If your device is not collected within 30 days of notification that the repair is complete or that a quote is awaiting your approval, a storage fee of $10 per week may be applied. Devices not collected within 90 days of notification may be treated as abandoned property and may be disposed of, disassembled for parts, or sold to recover outstanding costs, without further liability to this workshop.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Our liability is limited to the direct cost of the specific repair performed. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from the repair, failure to repair, or delay in completing the repair of your device, including but not limited to loss of business, data, revenue, or profit. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any right you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. GENERAL

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; the version in effect at the time of device acceptance applies. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
